چکیده
arious organizations and individuals, including issue-oriented advocacy groups, research institutes, business groups, and members of Congress, have recently proposed that the United States consider use of a carbon tax as the primary federal policy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.1 A carbon tax establishes a fixed fee per unit of emissions and thereby provides a certain price incentive to cut emissions.2 However, one concern regarding a carbon tax is that it does not ensure that the nation will achieve a specific emissions goal because the economy’s response to such a tax is unknowable in advance.3 This concern mirrors the reciprocal apprehension over allowance-price uncertainty (and ultimately cost uncertainty) under a cap-and-trade

Coordination of competitive advertising via investing in transportation lead time reduction
In this study, a contract for vertical and horizontal coordination is developed in which transportation mode and carbon emissions tax play a key role in determining the values of the contract parameters. The contract is designed for simultaneous coordination of cooperative advertising and periodic review replenishment decisions of a supplier and two competitive retailers. To obtain the optimal ...
متن کاملTax Induced Emissions? Estimating short-run emission impacts from carbon taxation under different electricity market structures
This paper evaluates the relevance of market structure on the short-run effectiveness of carbon taxation by utilizing the introduction of Australia’s carbon tax in 2012, its removal in 2014, and between these dates a change in market structure in Western Australia where the dominant generator became vertically integrated with the market retailer. The market power of the dominant firm decreased ...

This paper investigates the development trends and variation characteristics of China’s economy, energy consumption and carbon emissions from 2007 to 2030, and the impacts on China’s economic growth, energy consumption, and carbon emissions under the carbon tax policy scenarios, based on the dynamic computable general equilibrium (CGE) model. The results show that during the simulation period, ...
